Summer Wonder Walks is here!

The wonder walks program is aimed and kids ages 5 and under and allows them to explore and connect with the natural world through guided walks, explorations, related art projects, and critical thinking STEM activities.

We start off with a quick story and discussion, a movement activity, then we move on to a hike and exploration, and we finish with a related STEM or art activity. The entire class is generally 45 minutes long and the kids can stay and play as long as they would like.

This summer we will be exploring (not in this order)

  1. Trees

  2. Bees

  3. Forest Friends

  4. Colors and Shades of Nature

  5. Slow and fast movers

This class is every other Monday at 10:30am and there are 5 total classes. The location will be Gorman Nature Center. The class typically lasts for 45 minutes but I do not rush the kid’s exploration or play.

Monday classes will be:

6/16, 6/30, 7/14, 7/28, 8/4

There is no official supply list but there are a few things you might want to make your explorations easier such as coloring utensils, a notebook, and clipboard (small size is fine).

This is not a drop off class. Parents are expected to stay and help their children with their explorations.

A private facebook group and remind app will be used for communication within the group.
