Firefliez Nature School is a unique and enriching program designed to foster a deep connection with the natural world while emphasizing community, homeschooling, nature, art, and STEM education.
Firefliez Nature School is focused on learning about the nature that surrounds us, exploring the world around us, and playing or crafting with natural materials. We are very immersive. You will not be in a classroom- you will be outside the entire class.
We start off with a quick science-based lesson, move on to a hike and exploration, then we do a related STEM or art activity.
This class is geared towards kindergarten -5th graders. HOWEVER, if you have kids older and or younger they are welcome to join and participate.
If you only have children under 5 my Wonder Walks class may be a better fit for you. For kids who are ready for the next level I also have Advanced Journaling and Advanced Chemistry and Microbiology

Creeks
Levels of the Forest
Map skills
Summer Escape
Creepy Crawlies
This class is EVERY OTHER WEEK Tuesday 10:30am for 5 sessions. The location will be Gorman Nature Center. The class typically lasts for 1.5 hours but I do not rush the kids exploration or play.
Tuesday classes will be:
6/17, 6/31, 7/15, 7/29, 8/5
If you know there is a class you won’t be able to attend, please reach out for a prorated cost.
There is no official supply list but there are a few things you might want to make your explorations easier such as coloring utensils, a notebook, and clipboard (small size is fine).
This is not a drop off class. Parents are expected to stay and help their children with their explorations.
A private Facebook group and remind app will be used for communication within the group.
